I never met the mother from my mother, cause she died in 1963 and was born in 1894, but my mom said that she always said when someone complained: dont be jeremiah-ing and she sang and joked a lot.
The mother from my dad, can't remember if she had a saying, but a funny thing I can remember is that when she had cooked and it was a bit messy she said: Oh who cares. In your stomach it becomes a mess too. I think I have her cooking genes.
