As I get older, that definition has changed a lot! I can't even go to an event and linger because the music is tooooo loud!

It depends on the context and what the noise is.
I have a very low tolerance for things like screaming children in nice restaurants. I have a much higher tolerance for distorted guitars at a heavy metal concert.
