Worst Flash Flooding?

What's the worst flash flooding you've ever been in?

We were on our way home from a long trip and soon discovered that our route was flooded!! We made it through safely because we were still at the early stages, but it was scary.

I don't know if it was flooding or an unusually high tide. Years ago, before the new bridge leading to Chincoteague VA, I needed to leave the island after a nor'easter and found the waters were right up to the road leading off the island, washing over it in places. There were places where I couldn't clearly see the road and had to figure it out based on what I could see, hoping I didn't go off the side. Thankfully I was in a large 4x4 so didn't need to worry about losing traction or ground clearance.
