What about the ones who rejected the Savior and died that way?
We both know what happened to them, it doesnt change. However, God hsas allowed Israel to go into captivity, suffer great loss all sorts of things because they turned from Him but in the end He always brought them back. God loves Israel and its people and as Christians we should as well because our Lord and Saviour does

Romans 9:6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

Emphasis mine above. Not all of the people who live in the country Israel will be saved.

No. It was just something that crossed my mind when I was reading the online newspapers. A lot of Christians glorify the country Israel as if it's something more special than the actual believers.

Israel is one of the world's many nations like Jordan and Egypt and Italy. It isn't special from a Christian point of view. Maybe it is special from an evangelical protestant point of view but only (perhaps) for a few in those denominations.

It just doesn't make sense why they feel that way. It's almost to the point of making the country into a false idol to worship?

I always considered it a Kingdom and not a country. I suppose they could be the same. Today, the country of Israel has those who reject the Savior. Are we to support them? That's part of what I want to know.
Would any of us supported the wicked Kings of the Northern Kingdom of Israel? How about Josiah's grandfather, Mannasah, would we support him? I wouldn't. They did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. God spewed them out of his holy land.
Is present day Israel walking in step with the Holy Spirit or are they wicked like the kings of old? Will God spew them out of the land once more in a diaspora? What might Jesus say about the people who are dead in their trespasses and sins who live in His land? Will He bless them as they dwell in sin? Should we bless them as they dwell in sin?
My prayer is that God will remove the obstacles and take away Israel's blindness. Until God does this, I cannot support a government conceived in sin.
That being said, I find the United States to be equally wicked. We export vile pornography and immoral practices in the name of humanism and freedom of speech, with no concern about the vices we provide to call people toward hell.

Maybe people confuse Israel of ancient times, before the Lord Jesus Christ appeared in flesh, with the country called "Israel" today and if that is so then education in the holy scriptures ought to clear it up for those willing to receive the gospel as it is written but for those who do not want the gospel as it is written nothing will clear up the confusion. I do not think it is idolatry but it is confusion, and that does not come from God.

We should support Israel because Europe needs vegetables.

Gods word is plain about those who bless Israel and time and again we see what God has done to their enemies

Or being wise according to Gods word, you know those who bless will be blessed and those who curse will be cursed

...the same thing he did to Israel? Spew them out of the land?
God raises up nations and tears them down. The United States will soon be torn down and become a footnote in history due to our many, many sins.

One difference, Israel was always restored once their punishment was over, they continually turned from God towards evil which is why their history was so up and down. As for the USA I agree, he judged Israel and He will judge this nation and in fact I believe it has already started. When we reach the fullness of our iniquity then the nation will go down. Not a popular message I know but true.

Have you read that only a remnant was restored in each instance where there was devastation and examples are Noahs' family as a remnant and the rest destroyed and then when the north and south kingdoms were split which side was restored and which was not.

Exactly!! Not all are saved just like in today's country of Israel, God won't save those who reject Him. He has a remnant of believers within that country.

However read revelation and you will see that when He returns Israel will be saved but not till the last second. Israel was and is Gods chosen and always has been even when God was punishing them.

Could you point out where exactly those who reject the Savior will have salvation? Jesus says otherwise.

I am not saying that wjhat I am saying is that when Christ splits the mount of Olives the Jews that are left escpae Jerusalem where they are under seige and that the nation is saved because they then believe. The difference is that they will be in the physical millenial.

Israel, the ancestry or the Israel of God (the elect)?

Israel, the ancestry or the Israel of God (the elect)?

[Rev 7:4-8 NLT] 4 And I heard how many were marked with the seal of God--144,000 were sealed from all the tribes of Israel: 5 from Judah 12,000 from Reuben 12,000 from Gad 12,000 6 from Asher 12,000 from Naphtali 12,000 from Manasseh 12,000 7 from Simeon 12,000 from Levi 12,000 from Issachar 12,000 8 from Zebulun 12,000 from Joseph 12,000 from Benjamin 12,000

Specific tribes suggest BOTH the ancestry and the Israel of God (Jewish followers of Jesus).
