This thread is going to get mockery but it's the truth. The reason for the hate is the self-righteousness coming from whites and even those in non-white groups who agree with the self-righteousness.

Also this hated against self-righteousness is common among a lot of whites also.

Bottom line people are not doing as Jesus said and are judging others without looking at themselves. Much of this is also tied to politics as the pride of many makes them self-,righteous.

Now, what has got to do with Socialism, cause someone will point it out? Well, nothing really. It's all about the condescending attitude of many with no regard to some economic system or some sort of persecution they feel of people who fit the conservative description

Note: even MAGA supporters are upset with certain types of self righteousness, but not all of it. That would be, for instance, one example being where people are persecuted for being mildly politically incorrect.

I don't think race plays into it at all.

This nation was founded by Christians, consider Matthew 24:9.

They sounded like beatniks to me, like you'd see in some democrat controlled US city.

Do Beatniks sound like this?:

"O Lord our Heavenly Father, high and mighty King of kings, and Lord of lords, who dost from thy throne behold all the dwellers on earth, and reignest with power supreme and uncontrolled over all the kingdoms, empires and governments; look down in mercy, we beseech Thee, on these our American States, who have fled to Thee from the rod of the oppressor, and thrown themselves on Thy gracious protection, desiring to be henceforth dependent only on Thee"

That was the opening prayer at the first continental congress, delivered by Reverend Jacob Duch.

If that sounds like the beats to you all I can say is you spent your time at different coffee houses than I did back then.

Jefferson, for instance, was cynical about religion. He wasn't alone in that crowd

How large a percent of the population was Jefferson?

The American people, not a few high visibility leaders that advocated governmental neutrality toward religion, are the ones that created the United States and they were overwhelmingly Christian.

But if you choose to think of him as a founder of the beat generation, so be it. That view doesn't work for me.

But he even created his own Bible version with supposedly unscientific stuff taken out.

That's true, but is it acceptable to rewrite the Bible to suit your own desires?
