@Frankj, I'm afraid that you're taking an idea out of its context when you say that being like the angels "implies not male and female but non-sexual at all." Jesus was just referring to our marital state in response to a ridiculous trap posed by the Pharisees:That's actually a good question, Jesus told us that we will be like the Angels which implies not male and female but non sexual at all which seems to indicate we will be very different than we are corporeally. Consider: The first thing known about a new arrival (a person being born) is its sex and the last thing forgotten about him or her is their sex (when you forget someones sex, you no longer remember the person).
Consider also that Jesus told us that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us (several translations of this, all meaning the same thing).
So we need to consider both where Heaven will be, the one eternal place for us, and what we will be within it. Will our place be on earth, a changed earth from what it is now, and will we no longer be male and female in it but some very different type of being (like the angels are)?
For that matter, will we even remember our prior life, much the same way a baby rarely has memories before being born?
Just questions to consider from curiosity, not something of pragmatic use in our daily life.
You may be right about this, but let me ask: If we are to be both males and females in heaven, and the obvious purpose of that is reproduction, what will be the nature of our sexual relations in heaven?@Frankj, I'm afraid that you're taking an idea out of its context when you say that being like the angels "implies not male and female but non-sexual at all." Hi Frank , I don't know. But if there is anything to it, not that we would want for anything, but perhaps complitarianism and / or maybe fellowship? You may be right about this, but let me ask: If we are to be both males and females in heaven, and the obvious purpose of that is reproduction, what will be the nature of our sexual relations in heaven?
When I see 'as the angels. I also look for anything in the Bible that indicates the Angels have a sex of either male or female, more so that they do not have sex and do not reproduce which is the purpose of sex.
So how would you address this concern of mine that we will not be sexual beings when resurrected?
As Einstein would say, "Why would God do it that way"?
@Frankj, you are asking an unanswerable question, because the Bible doesn't say what our resurrection bodies will be like, sexually or physically. It appears in 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 that they will be these bodies perfectly transformed, strengthened, and full of God's glory, but beyond that description, we'll just have to wait and find out. I do yearn for that day when Jesus returns and raises us from the dead or transforms us if we're still here. You may be right about this, but let me ask: If we are to be both males and females in heaven, and the obvious purpose of that is reproduction, what will be the nature of our sexual relations in heaven?
