I can't wait for warmer weather. I'm going to open the pool this year, after all that talk that I was going to tear it out last year. I didn't even open it.

Last year I had to scare away a huge bull frog that was trying to make it home! I do have a pair of beautiful mallard ducks that sit near the pool before I open it. I've seen then at least 5 years in a row.

Gloriously sunny. Normally on a day like this I'd be in the woods but my chest still has the tail end of this cough I can't quite shake, so went for a walk around the country roads instead. It's a longer walk than my go-to route in the mountains but a lot less hilly. In the woods I'm pleased if I can maintain a pace of 20 minutes/mile but on paved roads around the country I can hold a much higher pace.

It's in the 20s F right now and might warm up into the 30s later on because the sun is shining. The rest of the week will be 50s and 60s but rain. I'm hoping it will be pleasant enough to get some walking done at the park.
