Maybe a recovery forum with different subforums? (yes I thought of a different site) but I really like that idea and think it would be good here if we don't go there anymore so pretty please.

Every forum I've been in has intolerable monitoring which makes it impossible to voice an opinion. I was reminded that certain things are not allowed on here and I haven't even been in here a week. I'm not sure I would go for muzzling people's honest opinion even if it would offend some groups. I detest LGBT people and their sin and if the subject comes up I wouldn't want someone to remove my posts (supported by bible verses) just because they don't want to offend LGBTs.

I feel that our forum is more tolerant than some others with stricter rules, but with that being said we still have this rule that is posted as a sticky in every forum for members to abide by:

Luke 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
This is a Christian site and members are expected to act with respect toward others.
Flaming or personal attacks will not be tolerated.

When posting, there is a way of getting our point across without giving offense.

This example is not acceptable on the site: LBGT people are disgusting.

I would also use another example, but cannot because the profanity filter won't let me use it as it's a name calling.

There are ways of giving our opinions that don't flame. If we allow people to flame then we are not loving our neighbor.

Exactly. Opinions that do not resort to hateful and bigoted name calling are so much more powerful and eloquent. If I am reading something and I come across hateful or derogatory terms, I quit reading because I view the author as immature and uniformed, and not worthy of my time. If I am reading something and I strongly disagree with it, but it is well-written and free from hateful terms, I continue reading because I feel I might learn something.
