Oh thank goodness I was beginning to fear that I was the ignorant one not having any insight to provide in this thread with my confusion around the question. Are we thinking literally here where we have 5 fingers and 2 hands that can be used to serve God? Is it symbolic? What do you mean by 5 books of law and 5 books of gospel?

In more recent years have I only started to really make a conscious effort to explore and develop my relationship with Jesus as an adult. So I feel like I'm a complete novice. I enjoy conversations with those who share my faith and really appreciate stumbling upon this community. I hope to learn and be able to provide value as well. In this particular thread yep I am confused!

I think you're overthinking this and trying to make God fit into a pattern.

Exactly. It says NOTHING about God being male and/or female... or male and/or female being the image of God (after all, bunny rabbits are male and female, too).

Actually, there is ONE book of minor prophets.... it's just that in Christian tradition, we've departed from that and make them each separate.

There were 13 or 14 Apostles (depending on how you consider Matthias).

Only currently.... and only on one day of the year.... and only at the equator.
