What is personally APPRECIATED by me is an email..... That happened here.
I HOPE the webmasters have a master-list of all posters and can easily send out a mass email. Knowing the problem is not on my end.... knowing the site is not permanently down.... knowing good people are working on it.... that gives me reason to hang in there.
I've been WAY, WAY too active at sites like this one since I was about 12. Dozens of them. And I know they go "down" from time to time, "bugs" come and go. And when there are volunteer, non-professions running the site (as is typically the case), this can be very frustrating and difficult to resolve - and sometimes it's the hosts problem and the webmaster can't do a thing about it but wait. MOST OF THE TIME, the posters are left in the dark. I think most will hang in there for a FEW days - then become active at other sites where they are registered, perhaps leading to them "leaving." I have been told that such "down times" ALWAYS lead to some losses. But for ME, an email keeps me "on board" - even if it takes many days to resolve things.
I appreciate an email when things go "down"..... maybe every couple of days to say how things are going.... and when it's back up.
I appreciate the staff here.....
