The only time I ever walked out of one is when I walked in and the wait to get a table was over an hour long.

My friend and I went to a fairly new restaurant. We got seated, handed a menu and the waitress walked away. We thought she would give us a few minutes to look at the menu and then come back to take our order. The place was not busy and we waited 30 minutes for her to come take our order. I even flagged her to let her know we were ready to order. She ignored me. My friend and I, at that point, got up and left.

I rarely walk out, unless it's crowded and haven't been seated. I figure if I go somewhere else then it's just taken the time that I would have sat waiting anyway. However, poor service such as in your example is reflected in the tip

I've walked into the entrance and was told the wait would be an hour and a half and went someplace else to eat. I don't think any place is worth an hour and a half wait when there are plenty of other restaurants in the area.

I've walked out after waiting to be served for 20 minutes.

I have walked in, been seated and given a menu and then walked out because the prices were exorbitant.
