Because they care about the environment. They care so much that if you lose the remote you can be held at their mercy, and if they decided not to offer the remote any more you get to throw out a perfectly good TV and buy another one. Of course the smallest TV you can get now is the size of Montana. Because it's all about the environment.
Or maybe the green they're talking about is the money you have to spend to line their pockets because nothing can be fixed any more. It's hard to say sometimes.
