Reminds me of what I heard yesterday.
We’re in Cancun this weekend and as we were waiting to board the plane the gate attendant was trying to get passengers to check more of there carry on luggage due to the flight being full. And her little spill was “come on folks you can do without your bags for 4 1/2 hour because all you really need in Cancum are sandals and sunscreen”. She got a good laugh.

I only go to the beach for a day trip so take little more than a sunhat, sunscreen (I only use it if it's really necessary) and my flip flops.
One day I took a long walk on the beach with my wife and managed to get sunburn on my feet. That wasn't fun at all.

Okay, here's what men bring...
Sunglasses (to protect eyes and so that the girls can't tell where we're looking)
And in MY case, sunscreen since I'm blonde/blue and very WHITE - and I burn in minutes unless I tan VERY slowly and carefull (or cheat).
Wish we could bring a six-pack of good beer but that's illegal at nearly all beaches.
