Eph. 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Let us look at our armour for spiritual warfare. Each piece is designed to protect a vital organ. The shield of faith,The helmet of salvation protects the head (mind). It must be on straight, not backward or side ways. The breast plate must cover the heart properly and tightly, not loose. The belt of truth must be fastened securely. The gospel shoes must be fitted well and secure. Our sword must be well oiled and keen. Can you think of more things that can make us dress better?

I thought of being fed on His word but that's not being dressed. I'll think on this some more :)

I think in some circles they put on the Underwear of Enlightenment, but I'm not sure who ..... Might be the Pantycostals. Or the Onesies maybe ... We'll have to search the textiles. :bolt:

The idea if the breast plate is protection of the heart area of the body. Our breastplate of righteousness is Lor Jesus, for He is our righteousness.

Yes. Actually it's the Lord Jesus in each 'piece' . And boy , wow. I am not making this up, as I started writing this, on the radio, a guy came on who has a 1 minute prayer ministry that they play a few times thruout the day, and he said, Let's pray to put on the full Armor of God, as the enemy is always roaming about ... Lol ... Wow, what timing, thank you, Jesus.

Sometimes the Lord is sending a message loud and clear, and have I ever been needing the Armor lately. The devils been putting wedges in to divide christian relationships, fears and doubts regarding the future, (will God REALLY provide, etc.), the political scene of turmoil and confusion, and just that general feeling of unease, with the love of many growing cold, it seems. But, the devils a liar.

A well-needed reminder and thread here Brighten04. Thx. Oh, and I just came across a book by Spurgeon on spiritual warfare that I had years ago but hadn't seen in a long time, ..... I thought it was gone. It turned up in my mother's library desk. I think a re-read is in order lol.
But of course, nothing surpasses the Word of God ... both as a weapon and as armor. GBU :) And of course, Jesus is our Captain, and already has the victory!

Yes, this is true, it is Lord Jesus in each piece. The Lord does speak to us in various ways. By your post, I discern that He has been trying to reach you to tell you to get dressed properly for battle. LOL! :rotfl: :thumbsup: In your relationships, remember it is not the person (flesh and blood) that is the problem, but spiritual forces that are invisible that are in play. God is not the author of confusion.

When I picture the armor of God I see a suit of armor and a kid that wants to put it up and tries going to battle while pulling up his diaper, this is for mature christians and not baby ones

Oh absolutely I know. The battles have been on going but theyre intensifying.
It's funny, but just Sunday night in prayer and worship, pastor was talking about persecutions, and saying in other parts of the world, they are being imprisoned, etc, just for believing in Jesus, but here we go thru an entirely diff kind of warfare. And we may have some things easy, maybe too easy, but in other ways, the persecution can be more subtle, but that can make it extremely dangerous, and even deadly.

I spent an hour earlier writing a very heartfelt prayerful post regarding this very thing, and I expressed exactly what you said ... It's what's behind the scenes pulling the strings that has ppl doing and saying some awful things, and we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but spiritual wickedness in high places. Unfortunately when I hit submit, it didnt post bc the moderator was in the process of , well , moderating for possible things getting out of hand or inappropriate, so it didnt get read. Which I respect that, it's not an easy job, I'm sure.

But I wish I had that post back for personal keeping, bc it really did come from the heart and I thought a few other ppl here might get an understanding of where I was coming from on a position. But no big deal, I wont question it and I respect their decision, it's all in the Lord's hands.

We do need to pray for one another and for the lost, and to be discerning as to when someone is an enemy of the cross, or just victimized or under attack themselves, as I guess we've all been there, done that, at one point, to one degree or another. Thx for the encouraging posts. Peace.

:rofl3: I hear you! But, a baby Christian has received the same measure of faith as the mature Christian. Like I said in the OP,sometimes the helmet of salvation gets put on backwards, as babies tend to do. This would be a case of the strong bearing the infirmities of the weak. But, I have found that most baby Christians don't like being corrected or told what to do.

Hm I think it's for everyone else they get devoured. My son when he was just saved had the devil saying this and that the whole day. I told him to use the shield of faith and helmet of salvation. The devil bothered him with hell thoughts cause his dad was so smart to show him hell movies. I had that too when I was just saved. In church noone is gonna help you so best put that stuff on fast. I said tell your dad you don't have it anymore since he wanted him to go to a psychologist who wanted to give him drugs. Jesus set you free. But then I'm lying. Nope. It's the truth. It's in the Word. He did, it was gone within a week.

Praise the Lord, Rens!
When I got baptized (re-), I spent that whole night being assaulted in my mind and ears, which led to physically being spent as well, and it was quite something I wasn't really prepared for or warned about, (or maybe I didn't take some of what I read about it seriously enough), but I was afraid to tell anyone, figuring I was just too evil to even be accepted by God or the body of Christ. But the next morning, I was able to talk to someone, and I wont go into details here, but little by little I've been set free from those lies, but the reminders are there, and I need Jesus every moment, and I'm so glad He's there and I dont have to be ashamed of it. I just hope some of what happened can be used to help another that may go through something similar. Paul's letter to the Ephesians has been a big help.
I'm so glad you're son came thru that ok. Thank you, Jesus.
