Written by a Methodist minister a year ago, it has spread....

Here it is.... used by some churches, especially during "Pride Month" (June).

"I believe in the non-binary God whose pronouns are plural. I believe in Jesus Christ, their child, who wore a fabulous tunic and had two dads and saw everyone as a sibling-child of God. I believe in the rainbow Spirit, who shatters our image of one white light and refracts it into a rainbow of gorgeous diversity. I believe in the church of everyday saints as numerous, creative and resilient as patches on the AIDS quilt, whose feet are grounded in mud and whose eyes gaze at the stars in wonder. I believe in the call to each of us that love is love is love, so beloved, let us love. I believe, glorious God. Help my unbelief. "

I heard about this in June. I wanted to puke, That being said, these people need our prayers that they hear, learn and believe in the Truth that is Jesus Christ crucified for our sins.

I would call this either heretical or even blasphemous.

Ridiculous nonsense.

To be fair, the "creed" was not written by a Methodist minister (although it would not have surprised me of a UMC church) it was written by a United Church of Christ "minister", although she grew up UMC and went to a UMC seminary; she switched denominations before being ordained.

It's shocking, I agree, and I can believe that it is or was actually in use in some wacko churches, but the wording really, really looks like satire.

I mean...God's pronouns are plural

and Jesus wore a "fabulous tunic!"

That's not a Creed, not even a heretical one.
