This stuff is brand new to me but very interesting and enlightening. I never understood this book until now. I just thought Job was truly a holy person, not deserving of curses.

Job later came around. But Job's reactions toward God showed that he thought he was righteous and God was unjust. The truth is, we all deserve the worst. But God poured his wrath for the sins of the elect on Christ, so he can justly treat us mercifully instead.

No, that's not the truth. That's a lie straight out of satan's mouth. He's the accuser. God thinks we are deserving of good because He created us good and even though our image has been tarnished by the fall and our desires have been corrupted, we maintain the desire to seek good.

No, that's not the truth...God thinks we are deserving of good because He created us good and even though our image has been tarnished by the fall and our desires have been corrupted, we maintain the desire to seek good.
Our image has been "tarnished?" Our desires "corrupted?" Sounds a lot like someone is doing his best to put a good face on the Biblical truth that we are sinners.

Yes, we--or most of us perhaps--do seek the good, at least at times; but there are none, no not one, who IS good. And that is why we needed a Savior.

(Luke 18:19): And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone."

What does that have to do with what I said?

We can assume God knew Job was self-righteous from the beginning, but the text keeps it a secret, so it seems like he was holy.
