Revelation has a scroll that is front and center of its prophecies
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof
The seals themselves are not a part of the contents of the scroll, but in fact are conditions to restrict its opening. Back in those days according to Roman wills were validated by the seals of five to seven witnesses. Each of the seals were placed on the rolled up scroll not to be opened until the proper time. What if the seals are the evil one's character/action/created events that cause God to call for the blast of trumpets against this wickedness? Just thinking.... mulling is probably more like it. What if the seals are Satan's efforts to block God. afterall, Yeshua had to "prevail" to open it.

A scroll, rolled up from both ends, John says had writing on both sides. What was written on the outside would be a brief description as per ancient custom while the inside would be the transaction itself, whether it is the marriage contract, the sales or lease agreements, slave contracts with release dates, etc. The way it was done back then was a portion of the text would be written, folded over and sealed, with a different witness signing at each fold. A larger number of witnesses meant that more importance was assigned to the document. The only thing that I can think of is the ownership of earth was at stake. Satan claimed it is his.
Mat 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me., and we know Yeshua is coming to claim it as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. It is His rightful inheritance. So when He opens the scroll, it is because He just inherited it. Ezekiel describes this same scroll in his vision of heaven.
But we know in the end it will be handed over to Yeshua, the rightful owner.
Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
