At a restaurant, have you ever been deceived by the name of a dish in the menu and received something totally different?

In France. Not deceived. I just didn't pay much attention in school and hated having to learn all these French words. Why don't they learn Dutch? LOL and that's also the reason they often refuse to speak English. You're here, so speak our language, but when you overtip they speak English very well. Anyway, it was under Poisson. Poisson is fish. That I know. And fish is always good, so lets take this fish meal. Then I got some really tiny chickens. Tasted really good. But afterwards I heard they were frogs. Granouilles. I imagined them hopping in my stomach. Eeeeww.

Eh, no, because I have almost always asked about something I'm not sure I understand.

As a Vegan, I did ask about a dish offered by a sort of fast food mall vendor, to make sure it didn't have animal products in it. I was assured there were none. However, the dish tasted like it contained egg, and it wasn't an Indian dish so unlikely they were using Black Salt (provides an egg flavor). Soon afterwards, my nose was running and my stomach didn't feel well. Stuff them, I never went back and won't ever go to that place again.
