If you trace Israel to its roots, it is easy to see they are a religion and not a race. Abraham circumcised his 300+ soldiers and their families, all foreigners. At the time, Ishmael was his only circumcised household relative. But all became Abraham’s covenant seed through circumcision Genesis 17:11–13. They called them Hebrews during this time Exodus 9:1.

Later Moses would use the terms Israel and Hebrews interchangeably linking them Exodus 3:18; Also Paul in Philippians 3:5.

God told Abraham that His seed (Christ, according to Paul Galatians 3:16) would come through Abraham’s son Isaac (Ishmael’s younger brother) Genesis 21:12. In time Jesus’ extended family developed through Isaac and his twin son Jacob. Jacob fathered twelve sons who became the heads of twelve tribes.

It is popular today to call anyone a Semite who speaks one of the Semite languages. But Israel was always the Congregation (Church) of the Lord based on religion. That is God’s promise to Abraham. Israel was not just Jacob’s extended family, but always included a mixed multitude of converts based on circumcision Exodus 12:38 Joshua 5:5. God removed from Israel any uncircumcised male whether family or not. Genesis 17:14.

This is why blood did not make one an Israelite. Scripture says; “And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people (family); he hath broken my covenant.” Genesis 17:14 (KJV 1900) So Israel was always a Church/State based on religion, not a race.

Incidentally: The Jewish Almanac – 1980 Chp. 1, pg.3 "Identity Crisis" agrees and says: "Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a "Jew" or to call a contemporary Jew an "Israelite" or a "Hebrew."

"Jews are explicitly not a race. Indeed, race is a godless construct stemming from Darwinian and Evolutionary ideas about how one group of homo sapiens might evolve more quickly and more fully than others. However, the Torah utterly rejects such disgusting racial theory. Every human being is created equally in the image of God. There is only one race and that’s the human race." The Jerusalem Post https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-695683 Also: “And [God] hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;” Acts 17:26 (KJV 1900)

"It was the diabolical Nazis who, using their monstrous lie that Jews are a distinct and inferior race, annihilated six million Jews they determined were subhumans as part of their godless lie that there is anything other than one human family." https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-695683

So when Israel left Egypt in the exodus, they were a mixed multitude of twelve ancestral tribes and their converts, all circumcised members of Israel. In Esther's day, it says many from the Persian nations became Jews when during the Persian exile, Israel retaliated against genocidal Haman with overwhelming success Esther 8:17.

So, in view of Ishmael’s exclusion, circumcision and membership in the community made one an Israelite Exodus 12:48–51.

When Jesus arrived, God no longer used the physically unbelieving nation to preserve the religion. Jesus abolished circumcision on the cross, replacing the Old Covenant with the New. By it ending the Israeli temple and the nation in AD 70. Only a believing remnant remained as biblical Israel under Christ Colossians 1:18 and Galatians 6:16.

So what about the many studies trying to find out whether today’s State of Israel is Semites or gentile converts from the Khazars of Northern Europe? Many claim these converted en masse to Judaism in the ninth century and make up not only the State of Israel today but also the world of Judaism. Several convincing studies come from both sides. But in the end, this is not what really matters.

Because when Jesus abolished circumcision on the cross. He abolished the only rite that made one a physical member of Israel or a Jew. This meant that only believers remained as Israel. It also meant anyone circumcised before the crucifixion would become the last generation.

Paul says to us; “Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:” Romans 11:19–20 (KJV 1900)

Judaism today is newer than Christianity, it became Rabbanic Judaism and was created by the Pharisees. The Torah is no longer the Torah of the OT, or at least not Just. The Torah now includes all of the Talmudic laws written by Rabbis, it's 100% dedicated to continuous 24/7 OCD rituals and observances to the Talmud, the prophets are completely censored in Israel, they practically have no rest day or night. There are a great deal of Jewish converts to Christianity who have written very eye opening books that exposes the deception. I highly recommend one of the books "Refuting Rabbanic Judaism", I listen to the audiobook, very gery good read.

The word race is used in communication. It refers to 3 distinct groups. European, Asian, and African. It can also be used in describing peoples of mixed ancestral background. It is sometimes used to describe people of a particular religion. So it is only a matter of proper grammer.
