... combined with the stupidity of the masses. When so many people seem to think that their party is inherently right on all things and the other party is inherently wrong on all things it's hard to see a future that doesn't involve either a dictatorship or civil war somewhere down the line.

The biggest threat to America (and the rest of the world) are the super powerful financial interests that control banking/financial cartel, and hence major media, education, the military industrial complex, and all corporations of any influence.
They have the power to (and have) start world wars, control the narrative, and control what children are taught about them afterwards. Perfect example is WW2. Most people do not know that Hitler did not start this war.
