What’s the first major news story you remember living through?

The Kennedy assassination.

Nixon resigning. I remember watching it on TV. I was almost 5 years old.

Night Stalker. As a kid living in southern California at the time with my family, I remember having to close the windows at night during the summer with no air conditioning because this was all over the news.

I remember the moon walk and I was not even 3 years old at the time. I also remember Nixon and Watergate and parents yelling at each other at my school.

Richard Ramirez. I remember his arraignment and his acting out for the cameras.

A rotted teeth 14 victim serial killer. With over 25 who lived after suffering horrific torture.

While in prison on death row Richard R. suffered terribly.

• He received dental work @ taxpayer expense.

• Got married in 1996. (Yes,to a none too picky human female named Doreen Lioy) No congugal visits though thanks to its being abused by Tex ''Charlie"' Watson.

Lastly, RR died of natural causes in 2013 while still on DR waiting to be executed.

Yep and as small kids who loved to sit in front of the TV and watch cartoons for hours we were rather annoyed that we had no cartoons but instead had to watch a funeral procession.
