I think about how we are all sentenced to death because of sin.
God says that we are made in His image therefore we can sentence people to death.

Genesis 9:6 Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man his blood will be shed; for in His own image God has made mankind.

Jesus did though teach us about not stoning for certain moral reasons.

I'm personally opposed to the death penalty....

But in the People's Republic of California, a "One Party State" where the Democrats run things as they wish and the press is in the pocket of the One Party, we of course have a communist governor. Just 2 months ago, he pledged (actually, swore to God) that he would uphold the laws of the State of California. That includes the Death Penalty (which California has over and over again affirmed and made law). But, since this is a One Party State, there's no importance to laws or swearing to God or the Rule of Law or doing what one promised. So, the governor (who came to public attention as the mayor of San Francisco as he pubicly ridiculed Christians and the Bible to defend same-gender "Marriage") simply decided that laws only matter when the Democrats agree with them and so now we have no death penalty. Laws don't matter. The recent election that upheld the death penalty doesn't matter (because we all know elections don't matter to the Left unless the decision is in full conformity with Democrats).

I believe you also swear to uphold the rule of law and consistantly it has been shown that the death penelty condemns innocent people to death and that it is used in a way that is not equal so I guess he is upholding the law. Funny you dont mention all the Republican governors who have done the exact same thing for the reasons I have stated

I don't know of any Republican governors who have done "the same thing" - just ignored the law that swore to uphold, ignore recent elections, and simply declare that the personal opinion of the governor "trumps" the Rule of Law and election results. Which Republican governor did that? But my point was not that Democrats or Republicans do this or that, my point was that in one state - a One Party State - the new governor did this.

I agree with him on the issue. I disagree with him on his complete circumvention of the Rule of Law, elections, and his sworn promise before God.
