Are they good? Are they bad? Should we have them?
Do the people not vote though? If the people want someone out they are free to vote them out and not LET it be a lifetime job.Absolutely, originally it was supposed to represent the people, not turn it into a lifetime job.
You would think but the system is broken and true representation of peoples interests falls by the wayside
You mean that special interests would quit currying favor? That would be wonderful and as for a politician quitting, I dont think so but it might make him vote his consicous instead of his poll numbersWould there not be the risk that with term limits people would not try once they got elected for the last time?
In other words, them caring less about getting stuff done because they cannot get reelected any now.You mean that special interests would quit currying favor? that would help. Too bad some people are not like that.Or maybe doing things because it is the right thing to do rather than worry about getting reelected
Well, in the case of the senate that would require either have 12 or 18 since they have terms that are six years long.I believe in term limits of 12-16 years(leaning more towards 16) for the US House and Senate.
so two senate terms and three house terms.I think 12 for the senate and perhaps six for the house,
