Honestly, if my faith is founded on a lie I'd rather know so I can abandon it.

I suspect the telescope will raise more questions than it answers. That's how science seems to work - a new discovery explains some things and raises a bunch of extra questions.

I think they could see back to the creation week, the day the stars were formed. They will misinterpret it, of course, because they have their preconceived ideas about the universe. I don't care if the star is estimated to be 15 billion light years away, that does not make the universe any older than about 6000 years by earth clocks.

I can’t think of a possibility that would contradict the Bible on that…. In fact I suspect they would find everything in our “universe “ had a definite beginning - creation- exactly as the Bible says.

I would expect it to find information that some people will leap on as "proof" that the Bible is wrong, even if a few moments' worth of thought will indicate that they don't provide any such proof at all.

The thing I'm often aware of is the level of complexity in so many things, that suggest some kind of intelligent design rather than cosmic fluke. The notion of intelligent design doesn't inherently prove that the Bible is true - intelligent design could just as easily support some other deity/ies or even some being far superior to us - but does start to make the atheistic worldview less credible. Even if "intelligent design" means some other superior being it just kicks the question back to where that superior being came from until ultimately we have to decide whether one or more eternal beings exist.

I am super excited to see what the telescope finds. I hope we find signs of other life forms out there.

I absolutely agree. What can the telescope find?

Barring a repeat of 'The Truman Show' movie, which I think is very unlikely, it has to be that some matter became more matter or else matter that was dispersed in some way other than it is now.
