I read quite unusual books at times. I was reading one about SAS survival techniques when captured and in solitary confinement.
I was quite struck at the known effects of being isolated and realised that many of us have been affected to some level by the past two years of covid restrictions, which are like torture.
I can feel the damage in me of being deprived of friends and family for months at a time, along with fear of the virus and having to abide by rules . I feel so sad at the hostility among our society , the bitter turning on each other.
Let's not underestimate the mental damage done to us. After all, we are just ordinary people, not soldiers trained and aware of how to resist. Isolation, loneliness and despair have brought many of us very low.
How can we recover even now? Infections are still going on, it is uncertain what is wisest to do.
If i hadn't got my faith in Jesus, I am not sure I would be still here. I've never known such depression.
