I suggest you remove the Staff Application feature since you are not accepting applications. You can put it back up when the need returns.

I would suggest simply entering "$show['modcplink']" into the Navigation Manager field "Show Permission Name" so that only mods/admins see it, and then if/when you are ready to open the applications back up you can remove that. :)
