I think God allows it so that we will become more Christ-entered. Every piece of spiritual armor is Christ Himself.

When I pray part of it is that I ask for bad feelings to be taken away. Is that warfare?

It can be. Warfare is really abiout coming against the spirits around you that are not of God, the powers that control a town such as drugs or sexual sin or whatever is prevaliant around where you are. Witchcraft, suicide anything that is not of God and have spirits attached to it. It says that our battle is spiritual and that we are fight spiritually against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness.

I am curious why you dont beleive in demons. Remember the demoniac and what Jesus did.

yes, it be'z real all right. i have prayed many times, as we are admonished to do, for there is spiritual warfare raging as we speak. It really IS true that the devil walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, and that is one of the reasons we are admonished to wear the full armor of God.

We NEEDS it, mon.

I have no evidence of them.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. - Ephesians 6:10-12

In a way I hope you never do see evidence of them! But scripture tells us they exist and they are the fallen angels. I'm glad God protects us from them and sends the Holy angels to our aid.

I guess it would depend on what you mean by "do spiritual warfare".

If we're petitioning God for something we aren't necessarily engaging the enemy in battle. We might just be asking for God to be with us (or someone else) to bring them peace. We can do that without it being a specific battle.

On the other hand we may be praying against something very specific, in which case we may well be entering into warfare. But since "sometimes" wasn't an option I selected option (c), None of the above.

What does 'spiritual warfare' mean in the context of prayer? Is it like the folk who say "I bind you Satan! Be gone! In the mighty name of Jesus"? Or is it something else?

To some it means "strategic level spiritual warfare" with is a very fine-sounding term that relates to identifying territorial spirits, getting to high places and binding them, but what it actually means in practise is very little. Jesus never told us to identify territorial spirits and bind them, so quite where that idea came from isn't entirely clear. As far as I can tell it makes the people doing it feel important, makes them feel like they are doing something useful while not actually doing anything of any consequence. Maybe there's another series in warfare strategy to come...

To others it may mean praying against something very specific even without the grandstanding words and shouting at unseen foes. We can pray against the devil's influence in a situation without all the grandstanding.

Ephesians 6 makes it clear.

Ephesians 6, and the whole armor of God, is a relevant passage about spiritual warfare.

Ephesians 6 is relevant to the topic but it's not the only source of information.

We can see things like 1Pe 5:8 warning us what the devil is like, a note of caution about flippant exorcisms in Acts 19:13-16, and some pretty basic instructions in Jam 4:7. Just for starters :)
