I've started to use spice blends lately. What are some of your favorites?

Some new ones purchased include Za'atar and Lenanese 7 spice. I don't have any recipes to use them in tho. Any ideas?

Just try them on everything. Be adventurous! I put Italian seasoning mix on all of my soups and stews.

Here are a few I use:

"Taco Seasoning" : Ingredients - Paprika, rice flour, salt, onion, tomato powder, Cumin, sugar, garlic Jalepenos, oregano, chili, food acid

"Barbecue" : Ingredients - Salt, Chicken Flavor, Sugar, Garlic, Pepper, Paprika, Onion, Rice Flour, Parsley, Dill, Thyme, Marjoram, Smoke Flavor, Food Acid, Vegetable oil, Celery, Capsicum, Leek, Tomato

"Lemon Pepper" : Salt, Pepper, Rice Flour, Chicken flavor, Food Acid, Sugar, Garlic, Onion, Lemon Peel, Vegetable oil, Lemon Flavor, Lemon oil.

Cayenne Pepper

"Garlic Steak" : Breadcrumbs (Wheat), Garlic, Onion, Celery, "natural flavors" (gluten/soy), sugar, salt, vegetable oil, herbs

"Italian Herbs" : Marjoram, Basil, Capsicum, Rosemary, Oregano, Parsley, Thyme

"Hamburger" Salt, Mustard Powder, Onion, Coriander Seed, Pepper, Paprika, Garlic, Ginger, Oregano, Parsley, Citric Acid (food acid), Thyme, Sage, Rosemary.

A "base" mixture for other spice mixtures that is simply Tomato powder, Onion Powder, Garlic powder (1/2 the Onion powder) and salt

And these stand alone spices: Cinnamon,
Ginger,
Mustard
Turmeric
Basil Leaves
Vanilla extract
Mint
Lime
Chili
Black Pepper
Garlic
Onion

I often mix different portions of the above "prepared spices" in differing quantities in a small mixing bowl, add oil, mix, taste test and add more of one or the other till I like, then add salt - and it becomes the sauce I use for whatever I'm eating.

I love experimenting with spices. I make my own rub for pork and lamb chops and it's incredible! I don't even really measure but just throw it in now and it still comes out perfect each time. I think the recipe is here in this forum.
