Yesterday, God graced me with the ability to attend Divine Service for the Day of Our Lord's Ascension. Today, I slept a lot, only really waking up a little bit before 5:00 pm tonight. I did run some errands to prove to myself that I could do these things. I haven't been coughing nearly as much and I have been feeling some rush of energy. I'm a little out of breath from it, but I still did it. That was the thing I set out to do and I didn't have to do any half- measures. That itself is a testimony to how good God has been to me. I did my daily devotions and said my prayers a little later than usual, but they are done.
Pastor at Church last night preached on Jesus and the woman at the well of Sychar. God seeks out the outcasts first and to them He gives the word to spread to their more " respectable" neighbors. I think that so it has always been. God calls people to Himself, on His initiative, starting with Abram of Ur and going all the way down to this present day. I find it a comfort that God would even bother ( much less as much as He did) with the likes of sin- laden man. Risen and ascended, how good Our Blessed Lord is!
