I don't know about loud music, she plays the kind of stuff on the radio that I consider drivel. Our tastes in music have some areas of overlap so if we are both home and want music on there a few things we can both like. Aside from that she likes a lot of commercial pop music and I like just about anything that isn't mainstream.

Sometimes I don't mind the commercial pop. I can't take it for very long though because it becomes annoying. Yesterday I had opera cranked really loud and was singing along LOL

My wife has come to accept that when I get home the first thing I do is turn the radio off. I can usually tolerate it for a few bars but that's my limit. I just have little time for manufactured, mass-produced drivel. In years gone by even the more commercial pop had distinct styles but now it's just so uniform I don't see any point in it. I guess the same few recording company executives are behind everything, pushing it all into their own brand of conformity. I like things that break molds

There's a really oddball mashup of Katrina and the Waves singing "Don't it feel good" with Slayer's "Chemical warfare" but some of Slayer's lyrics aren't really suited to here so I won't post the link.

Funeral at lunchtime. Not looking forward to this one. It obviously happens more the older you get but when people younger than me die it always makes me think about my own mortality.

My condolences That's true that as we age we'll be experiencing more deaths of friends/family.

It was a curious funeral. One half of the family was Christian and the other half wasn't affiliated with any church, so it was held in a funeral home. The room was about a third the size it needed to be, so we overflowed into the next room and then overflowed again. I suspect whoever organised the funeral had no idea just how many would turn out.

I think they were. When I saw the room my first thought was that it wasn't even close to big enough. The funeral home staff had to keep hunting extra chairs to line up as we took up more and more space! The guy was popular....

Lazy day for me. Church with fellowship meal afterwards. Got a friend coming for dinner this evening. Tonight might be a food coma.
