Got a little more work done in the study. One gap needed to be cleaned out and filled (it was behind the wall stud I took off), and another larger gap needed a concrete strip cemented into place. Then I added a little more foam to the window cavities and put the fiberglass back into the other window. Once everything has set (I'm using more mortar now so it will take longer) I can put the wall stud back in place and rehang the blind.

I also chiseled out a load of cement from right above the window and sprayed foam into the gap. That will help because there's always a crack between the cement and the wood, and with foam I can make sure the gap is filled. Every little helps here. It's much quieter in that room now.

Cleaned the deck and it's all ready for summer now. Once it's dry I'll put the mat out and we already have the rocking chairs set outside.

Just upgraded my phone to Android Pie and within 5 minutes I already wish I hadn't. The groups are now round so the corners of the icons are cut off, there's a hideous Google search bar across the bottom it won't let me get rid of, and it seems all they've done is change things for the sake of changing things. I wish there was a way to get rid of the upgrade without doing a full factory reset of my phone. I'm seriously considering a factory reset, just to get rid of Pie.

I wish the tech companies would just leave things alone rather than shuffling interfaces around for the sake of having stuff to point at as they waffle about "new".

Whew. Just checked the list and my phone is too old and isn't on the list of phones getting Android Pie! Yay.

I had returned the new phone I bought and went back to my old one and figured out that Google Play was the culprit in running down my battery. It was stuck in some loop for updates. I think I have it all figured out now and the battery isn't running down by noon now.

Mine went to Pie in January and I promptly switched to Microsoft Launcher because I am used to it.

You can remove the google search bar by tap&hold and they select "remove" from the little menu that will appear.

My plan for phones is to buy a new one some time around October - God willing - and it will be a bigger one. I may try a Mi Max 3 or Mi Max 3 Pro. If I was feeling wealthy I could try a Huawei Mate 20 X. They all have Android Pie now and might get Android Q (whatever sweet food they name it for that starts with a Q).

Sooner or later Pie will be on every phone, except the phones that have left it behind to go for whatever comes next. You may like it, but personally I've had it a matter of hours and my dislike for it is growing.

Tap and hold doesn't work. I tried it. I had to deny the Google app the permission to use the microphone because I don't want a doodad listening to everything I say just in case "OK Google" appears in there somewhere.
