Just got back from taking the cat to the vet. He doesn't like going to the vet much. At least getting him into the box to take him to the vet is easy. When I was growing up we had two cats and at the first sight of their special box they both hid under the sofa, so we had to undertake ever-more subterfuge to hide the boxes until the cats were corraled into the same room with nowhere to hide. Our cat is much easier, throw a treat into his special box and he jumps right in.

Our cats when I was growing up were almost impossible to get into their boxes. Without two people it probably would be impossible. As soon as their paws touched the bottom of the box they jumped out. What we did was have one person grab the cat, the other person stand by the box, then push the cat into the box and start closing the lid before letting go of the cat. Then they cried for the entire drive to the vet.

Our cat now likes to be in a box. Any time we have a delivery we leave the box on the floor for a time and within moments he's in the box curled up.

Then I went into town to run a couple of errands. Tomorrow I'll get busy with the project work.

Cleaned up the house, having guest Sunday, and Tomorrow my sister invited me to her baby shower. I plan on taking it easy for a while job-wise so I applied at Pizza Hut lol, in the meantime so I can save up to get my AC fixed in my car and catch up on bills. It's going to be tight but this is a very temporary job just so I'm not waiting around and if I have to travel for a decent job I got to have AC or I will die.
I have some friends that are getting me on so it should be fun.

Yes, air conditioning in Texas in August is not optional.
When i lived in Ft.Worth back in 1990 my car's air conditioner blew one summer. the heat index was about 105 for weeks at a time and it just couldn't handle it. I remember a big puff of smoke coming out of my car one day when I was stopped at a light and that was it for the air conditioning. I believe I got it fixed the next day

Yep. Could you imagine being trapped in a downtown Houston traffic jam in the peak of day with no AC? It's a death wish for sure, so glad I'm out of the big city now. Plus the fans not even blowing on top of that so it's looking like winter won't be looking good for me either. I just hope it's something simple and not too expensive.

Since my dad got home from getting his hip replaced, I've been trying to make myself useful. Things are a little tense here and I'm providing something of a calming influence.

I never like to let people know when I'm out of town...but we're back now We drove to get our daughter over 12 hours away and brought her and her things back home with us to live until she finds a job out here. She's in her 20s. We have her 2 guinea pigs too and they're going to love the garden food!

We went to a dairy farm for ice cream and got to pet the calves! It was a really nice time and the ice cream was good although my butter brickle didn't have much brickle in it.
