I have no doubt that this is the path we will go down and I am equally sure that it is a path of our downfall and a very dangerous place to be
But it is not a downfall of our country at all. :)
It is an improvement.
If we continue the way we were acting (since Clinton times) that would have been a downfall.

When it was time for USSR to cease to exist, they offered the other 14 republics the freedom to separate into individual countries.
They did.
If Russia was looking for an empire it would never had made that offer. And all this was peaceful.
Russia is openly saying they have enough land and resources and they do not need anything from anyone. They are not looking to be an empire.
It is a the largest country in the world with only 150 million population.

Peace through trading is the best possible situation we can have on this Earth outside of the rule of Christ.

The only real problem however I see (I could be wrong) is that it would be hard to get rid of all terrorism in the world.
Mainly Islamic terrorism. This could last the whole 21st century.
But it would be less, much less.

The hatred of countries against each other should disappear.
Tourism, trade, smiles and laughter.

United States would ALWAYS be a leader of the world because it has a UNIQUE role of a country that is not based on a nationality. It is a melting pot.
It will be a huge economic center revolved mainly around technology.
I think our future is very bright. :)

Thanks, :)

The USA is going down as it has to and you will see Russia haslarger ambitions than what you are saying.

Wow . . . how the world has changed over the past few decades. To be honest, I sort of miss being able to call the Russkies the "bad-boys" where we were supposed to be a part of the "good-guys"; now we have the new Russian Federation standing up as about the only rational world power where both NATO and the USA (and poor ol' Australia who does what it's told) seem to be lost to the whims of the military-industrial complex.

As the Russians seem to have the only viable battle-plan for achieving a degree of peace in Syria (if it's at all possible), should Australia seek permission from the Syrian government to deploy its Air Force alongside the Russians and the Syrians?

I think Australia should just stay out. Don't take sides. This isn't a moral war, as most aren't, and ISIS is being funded by western powers while the people are being told the west is fighting it. From what I've seen, it seems Putin is one of the few actually telling the truth about what is going on.
