Since his conversion I doubt that he'll be needing much of his gear, including the sleigh.

I nominate Rudolf for the killing celebration. His bright red nose may have served in the past, but now it's just a nuisance.

You have a point there. The original St. Nicholas was a bishop who gave gifts to poor children. Christian Charity. But Clement Moore's Santa Claus, the jolly old elf, gave presents to children WHO HAD BEEN GOOD. So, I guess there's some logic to what the article in the link is saying about him.

Not smart to use santa to make your kids behave.

I like the idea of keeping a few gift-wrapped empty boxes with your kids' names on them under the Christmas tree. If they misbehave, pick one and throw it in the fire...
