Visiting day is ended. I went out for lunch with a couple who used to attend a Pentecostal meeting and now are not associating with any church but may some time in the coming months or years. Then I visited the friends I mentioned before, an elderly couple that I've known many years. Then I picked up some groceries that were on sale and that I wanted. Now I am at home, ready for a quiet evening's rest.

Grace and mercy come from the Lord, let his name be praised forever.

They are still Pentecostal and I have never tried to persuade them to 'convert'. The truth is that no one comes to the Faith by persuasive arguments alone. Something more is needed. The Spirit, grace, desire in their own hearts are needed. Since my role is as friend and helper I pray that God will accomplish his purposes and I am glad if I manage to be faithful even a little bit.

I occasionally ask if they've found a church that they enjoyed. So far they haven't. I have not mentioned visiting my parish church. They are Pentecostal by choice - having been Methodist & Presbyterian by upbringing - so they would likely be unfamiliar and maybe unhappy in a Catholic church celebrating mass. But perhaps I am being too conservative. Maybe an invitation would do some good.

Oh! You never know. There have been people from various denominations who have visited my former church and realized that they didn't know they were missing so much from a liturgical church

Enjoying more episodes of Teen Titans with my grandkid ;P) She'll be with me for the rest of the weekend so maybe I can talk her into watching something else.. We have some blueberry tarts baking in the oven :yum:

I've heard of Teen Titans but was never forced to watch! I used to be forced to watch Barney for my niece though. Now that is a challenge! LOL
