Ruth, are your birds afraid when they hear the fireworks?

Hi Lamm, Jo, Bill, Cassia, MC, and everyone...my memory isn't so good so I am sorry if I missed anyone.

No the birdies are not afraid when they hear firecrackers or loud noise. Suzy got a bit flustered after they were setting them off for hours continually on the 4th. I kept my windows shut. A man in my city blew his hand almost off lighting one. He lives on the same street as I. They give so many warnings about firecrackers.

Hi Ruth. I'm glad your budgies are well. My Sheldon (the one I have as my icon) and Giuseppi are doing fine as well ... as are Madonna and Cher, the lady budgies that my bf has, and who have paired up with my boys. We are hoping for budgie "grandchildren" in the spring. No nests until then.

Was he drunk? When I was little my cousin had a firework blow up in his hand but it didn't take the hand off. He was fortunate. He was still in a lot of pain though. My cousin wasn't too bright!

I don't know if he was drunk or not. I think it may have been a defective firecracker that went off before it should have, though.

That's cool you have budgies, too! Mine are both girls. I don't want any little ones. I wouldn't have the money to invest in all that it takes to raise them all.

That's a scary thought! I'm not a huge fan of fireworks and am glad this season is now over. Onto more summer fun! I'm having relatives come visit next week.

That will be nice won't it. My brother is returning from his 4 mo. vacation pretty soon. He sold his house and his wife and he are moving into a downtown apartment. I just hope it is safe in that area they will live.

4 month vacation? Wow! I kind of get homesick so I try not to stay away for more than a week.

Well, they don't have a home right now so they took the opportunity to travel the USA and see all the relatives and their children and whatever they wanted to visit. My brother is worn out he said. He wants to settle in to his brand new apt. I sure hope they have it finished by the date they said they would be done so they don't have to wait any longer.
