Rummage/Garage sale tips?

It's been 15 years since I had a rummage/garage sale. I never made too much money when I did them, but this fall I'm trying to get my block to have a sale at the same time. They did one this past Saturday, but I wasn't on their texting list after the lady who used to handle it and the next lady in charge neglected to add me. oopsie. So I missed out, but I want in on the next one because I need to start purging the house and garage for when my husband retires in 5 to 7 years. We want to move and downsize.

So, what tips do you have to make a great sale?

So, what tips do you have to make a great sale?

Do people actually make meaningful money from yard sales? The ones I've been to have occasionally had something particularly nice there but a lot of them have come with the kind of "our junk could be your junk" approach.

If the stuff you have is worth something you can probably sell it elsewhere, even if you use the Facebook marketplace, and turn it into cash as and when you decide to be rid of it. If you're talking the general clutter that someone might give you a couple of bucks for, I'd give serious thought to whether the time and effort is worth the reward. We usually keep a box in the garage that we fill with stuff as we declutter and when it's full it goes to the local thrift shop - it's all the stuff that isn't worth trying to sell individually.

I should tell you about the last garage sale I had, when I still lived in Colorado! The Lord actually sent an Angel to my garage sale and he bought a whole table full of stuff off of me, and way overpaid me while He did it! The Lord did that in response to a prayer I sent up.

Ok here's my garage sale tips. Don't let them lowball you for your fine 20 year old household knick-knacks. Whatever they offer you, double it, lol! You may not sell much but you'd get some interesting conversation.
