We had our shutters refastened and the guy didn't do a great job...now we have some that need to be refastened again. There are so many shady contractors out there.

I did a minor repair to a tap that was dripping.

Aside from that we had some of our windows fail within the warranty period (only just!) and we had those replaced. That was a hassle, the company that provided them took quite a hit because the warranty they had with their supplier was capped at what they paid their supplier. Just shy of ten years later replacing my windows must have cost them a fair chunk of change.

I need two more windows replacing (very old ones) and it's hard to know who to go to. The supplier who provided the current ones seems OK but a but of a hassle to deal with. The contractor they used cut just about every corner imaginable, to the point they haven't used him in years. There are a couple of other suppliers but I don't know if they are any good.
