The Law convicts us of sin, but not always right away. What is something that took a long time before you realized you had stumbled into sin?

I started bowing before the idol of sports and TV at the age of nine when we got our first TV, because of the boredom of the farm. I became a Christian at the age of 16 but kept that idolatry as a rival to God until my first church where I was a pastor, when God convicted me of my idolatry when I preached on the verse 1 Corinthians 10:31, which called me to do everything to honor God. I began to watch sports and TV with praise in my heart for God's creative power in creating people with great athletic talents, for example, and God set me free!

That's an interesting approach. At first I thought you were going to say you gave up sports/tv, and I'm happy you went another route, praising God.

I was thankful that God led me in that direction, because it gave me many opportunities to talk sports with new people I met, as a point of contact leading to my witnessing to them later. If I had given it up, I wouldn't have had that icebreaker to begin a friendship.
