When I'm asleep, my brain picks up on things happening in real life and influences my dreams. Does that happen to you?

Example: We live near the Amish and sometimes I hear their buggies (the horses clip clopping down the roads) at 2 or 3 am. Last night I must have heard them because I was dreaming about being in a restaurant and suddenly I heard horses and there they were in the restaurant. I knew they were out of place but couldn't figure out why and then my dream decided to accept it and the waitress said that it's a horse restaurant too. LOL

Had things like that happen a few times. I remember in my teenage years I had an alarm clock that was just a single note whine, quite high pitched. One night I was dreaming I was in a car (probably as the passenger, I don't think I was old enough to be driving myself) when, for no reason at all, they hit the horn. Cue the sound of a horn, which woke me up. Except having woken up the horn was still sounding even though the rest of the dream had obviously gone away. It took me a few moments to figure out why I could still hear the horn.
