After my thyroidectomy I developed Raynaud's which means I'm super sensitive to cold. I've since discovered that taking Vitamin D daily helps alleviate this and I no longer wear socks to bed and wait 3 hours for my feet to warm up.

I recently saw a friend post on Facebook about this condition and some of her friends jumped in saying that they have it and all of them who have it also had thyroidectomies! That's so strange. I know that there are people who haven't who haven't had their thyroid removed but it's so odd how many have had the surgery and now have this syndrome.

My dad's mother had this. I'll have to ask if she had this surgery. I'm glad you've found relief from a terrible condition.

Thanks. I'm curious if she had any type of surgery where they used those boots that keep the blood circulating in the legs? I was reading that a lot of people who have Raynaud's were exposed to jobs that used tools with a lot of vibration such as playing piano or operating a jackhammer.

She didn't have a job like that. My grandpa was a Pentecostal/Charismatic preacher in Iowa.
