What are some things you do that others might consider weird or quirky?

I sing to my cat. Especially when she is begging for food when there is food that is still fresh and edible in her bowl. She knows the tune very well. It's to the melody of "What a wonderful life" by Louis Armstrong :rotfl:

"Meow" (rough translation): "Strav, feed me, I'm not satisfied with the contents of my feed bowl at the moment."

Me:

" I see food in that bowl....little puss....little puss....little puss....

and I say to myself...

I see food in that booooowwwlllll......"

sometimes with lyrical variations...

" I see food in that bowl...meow meow meow meow..meow meow meow meow....meow meow meow meow...

and I say to myself...

"Meow mow meow mow mow meeeeoooowwwww "

Quirky? Hmm. Where I live now there are some larger bugs than from back home and I have to touch them LOL

By definition, crazy cat people must have at least 2 cats. I have only one. When she dies, I will get another cat. Only one.

Quirky thing I do: I frequently bless the water that I drink. I used to think that Christians blessing water or food was superstition, until I found and watched an interesting doco on water, memory and intent. I say a blessing, but I do not invoke the name of any Deity or so called Deity, but I do focus my intent.

Reminds me of an old commercial. Do you also have cat food called Meow?

No way! People behind me in their cars must get mad when I slam on the brakes to avoid hitting Bambi or Thumper!

Ha, if there is such catfood in Australia with that name, I've never seen it.

My cat's proper name isn't "pusskins", but it is the name I most frequently call her. That, or "meowy cat", or "whingey butt", or "big whinge". That being said, I can't reveal my cat's proper name. It must remain a secret. It means something nice with a sort of irony that I didn't even realize until a friend from a different culture and language pointed it out to me.

Quirky thing I do:

I save my eggshells. This is a relatively new habit. After I have enough - I boil them, then bake them, then turn them into powder. I use as either a calcium supplement or apply directly as part of toothpaste.

Now that I have bought rabbits who don't listen at all the neighbours hear me calling: Henkie! Henkie! Come here Henkie.
Henk is a Dutch male name. My brother is called Henk. My son likes him, so he called his female bunny Henkie.

Quirky thing I do:

Become way too involved with people on message boards and internet media in general. Everyone starts out using a username. If you're on an mb long enough - you can get to know them very very well. Some websites keep detailed records. Your writing style, how you post, where you post, things that make you unique. Record keeping. I know the other site does - because I could hide my IP and I'd still get caught. I could hide my browser data and I'd still get caught. I could make sure no HTML 5 canvas imaging data is relayed and I'd still get caught. I could spoof false data like my computer's time/date and I'd still get caught. It's sort of scary, because you know certain individuals are keeping a very detailed record of who you are.

So, I keep my own records. Ha. Works both ways, lovelies.

But - it is a quirky habit. The lure is all in the assumption of anonymity. People are more honest when they have that assumption, and everyone starts a web board or website with it. Therefore if you can identify a sock account, you may really get to know what their real self is saying, as opposed to what their "public" self is saying. Of course, there is a danger in being wrong, and that does happen often. The last account accused publicly of being mine (that I could see on the board) was not. But I understand why it was suspected. The person posted something on collectivism. Truth be told, if I had an account there I would have liked the post. But it must have raised alarm bells with certain people - hello and surprise! I may be statistically unique in that particular viewpoint but I am hardly the only one in the world who holds it!

It's quirky and it's dangerous but there is an upside. On the whole, people are more honest using usernames. You can get to know them very well and even make a great friend. On the flip side, you may have someone who knows you very well and absolutely hates your guts.

It's probably quirky to many people...

I save a lot of things other people throw away. Especially - containers, like glass containers - and sometimes plastic too, but it depends.

Dark colored glass containers are prized - as they can hold various medicines (tinctures).

Even light glass for other stuff though. For instance - several pounds of onions that I dehydrated and made into powder now reside in what was once a pickle jar.

If you find that you'll end up using those things that's great. If you're just a hoarder then...no. LOL
