Do you think hate can be unlearned or do you believe some people are simply predisposed to it? (Please explain your answer)

Your question reveals that you have bought into the world's definition and use of 'hate'. Your question suggests hate is something evil and outside the individual. That it is something to be learned or unlearned ,or something one might succumb to more easily than others.

One might ask if love can be unlearned? Are some people predisposed to love?

Many in this world are involved in the very depths of evil. And they love it. And they love those who participate with them in it. Since they 'love', is that ok? I mean, since God is love, and they are loving, it must be ok. Right?

If someone hates someone because of the color of his skin, yes, it can be unlearned. It all depends on the company they keep and if they're racist too.

It can be unlearned. Corrie ten Boom was in a concentration camp and after the war she had a place for victims from the war,but she also felt sorry for the traitors who sided with the Germans and betrayed their own people, so lol she put em all together, which was not a smart idea, so she put those elsewhere. She said that after a while some would say: maybe those other people want some beans too, when they were working in the garden and they healed up, cause they chose to forgive. Anyone can chose to forgive and let God do it if you can't do it yourself, but it's a choice and I read something lately about a muslim guy who was so full of hate, cause his parents put hate into himsince he was 1 year old. That's really sad. You can ruin people.

@Lamb

So, the original question is not about hate. It's about race?

America and the Church have done an excellent job in making hate and race synonymous.

Racism is defined as hating someone because of their race or color of skin. So racism is about hate, which is why I mentioned it.

Yes, I know how it is defined. But, my point was, racism wasn't the subject. Hate is. Yet you immediately knee jerked into 'racism'. Just like the rest of America and the Church.

So, to get back to the opening post, is 'hate' evil? Or, is 'love' good?

I'd say hate and love are inherently neutral as it is what one hates or love that makes it good or not.

Yes, and I agree. Hate and love are expressions of emotion that we have because God has them. And we are created in His image.

We should love what God loves and hate what God hates.

It is the direction of our hate and love that determines if it is good or evil. Not that we have the ability to hate and love.

(Ps. 139:20-22) (Mal. 1:2-3) (Rom. 9:13)

Sort of depends on what is meant by hate or even why it's considered 'bad'. Hate can be directed to an action or attitude (ie: Hate what is evil), an object, an animal, a person.

As for predisposition, I can think of an interesting example. When I was growing up, my family would occasionally travel and visit the family of one of my Dad's business associates. They were a very loving family that had 2 kids of their own and two adopted boys. The two adopted boys were brothers who had the same mother. The mother was a drug addict/prostitute who didn't care for them properly when they were young. They often weren't fed/cared for and the older brother would steal/dumpster dive to get food for himself and his brother. (oh btw...since race was brought up..everyone was white, including the two adopted boys).

Anyway, the adoptive family was very good to them, and the older of the two adopted brothers seemed to turn out o k. The younger one, though, never turned out o k. He was wild, and he consistently did mean and cruel things to the natural siblings and to pets. From what I could gather, he was treated as equally with love as his brother. However, eventually his behavior was so bad and un-relenting, the family decided to un-adopt him (not sure exactly what that meant specifically...whether he was committed or something I don't know). But for him it seemed it was probably predisposed by at least partially his initial up-bringing.
