I ignore texts. Usually I ignore calls but if one slips through (usually because I'm expecting a call but don't know what number it will come from) I just string them along for a while. If the Republicans call I pretend to be a hardcore Democrat, if the Democrats call I pretend to be a hardcore Republican. No cliche is too bad when stringing along political canvassers.

Texts, no. Phone calls, I don't know. If there is no number or I don't recognize it, I don't answer. Many of those types of calls don't leave voicemails either.
