Do you automatically assume someone is guilty if they plead the 5th? (USA)

We live in an age where everything you say to investigators can and will be twisted and distorted to mean what they want it to mean with no regard to what it actually meant when you said it.

Way back when, I met and talked with one of the surviving Branch Dravidian's who told me he willingly cooperated with the FBI and truthfully answered all of their questions to the best of his ability.

He was almost in shock at how they handled it, stating that he couldn't believe how they took everything he said and twisted it to mean something else that was entirely different than what he meant to suit their own desires with no regard for the truth.

Are you willing to talk under oath knowing that the sole purpose is to trick you into saying something that can and probably will be twisted from its original meaning and used to prosecute you (or someone else) for something that is entirely contrived and not at all true?

This is what should be considered, this is the reason we have the 5th.

One time I was charged with enough crimes that if I was convicted on all of them, I'd be serving 38 years in prison. What did I do? Oh, I didn't answer the door for the cops.

You see, one sunny saturday morning me and the two boys got up and the mama was already gone and my two boys got into a fight. Because the mama was gone I thought I'd let them fight and get it out of their system, lol.

Well the back sliding door was open and it prolly did sound like someone was dying in there with the kids screaming and thumping around, but I didn't think much of it and continued to let them fight. (That's how I learned to stay out of big brothers stuff!)

Soon a neighbor had called and a cop was knocking at the door. I got the bright idea to not answer the door. I don't like dealing with cops first thing in the morning! So I whispered to the kids, let's just go upstairs and play some chess until he leaves. We played two games and by then it was all quiet at the door. So I peeked out to see that they were gone and there was no car in my driveway anymore. They had pulled back and barricaded the street and delta dudes were everywhere, oh boy. The SWAT team.

We had only lived in this house for 2 years and I found out later that the people who used to live in this house had stabbed his wife awhile back so it was "hot address" for the cops. So they was calling me a barricaded subject and thought I had been hurting my wife inside! I am a gun owner and I knew they wanted in to sweep the house looking for hurt persons. If I let them in I just knew the would seize all my weapons, so I had a 8 hour standoff with them and between phone calls I went and hid the largest portion of my weapons but left a few cheaper guns out, they had to find something because I reload ammo also and had a dedicated room for it, gun stuff and ammo was all over the house. So I let the 22's stay on the rack, and maybe, just maybe, they wouldn't find the others.

When I understood that they are not going to leave, I called my wife at work and told her I was surrounded by a swat team. (LOL). They keep asking to send out you and the kids and I tild them you are not at home. So she left work and came home and parked at the end of the street and approached the cops and they said you have to leave. So she said that's my house and my husband, I am the wife I was at work. He doesnt beat me! And the cops got pissed! She said he started screaming and yelling at everyone! Because he knew then that, they had no business being there, no crime had taken place.

At some point I sent the jids outside after telling the negotiator that I would, a gesture of good faith. AFter all, I wasnt harming them or holding them hostage! The cops got the kids and asked them what I had been doing to them in the house?...and they said, oh we was playing chess!

I was thinking that since all persons were accounted for and safe then I wasnt going to go to jail, so I came outside after locking the house behind me. But I didn't know how pissed they was, and they were pissed at me for mot doing anything except standing them off. So they took what guns they could find and arrested me and then filled me up with a list of charges which totaled 38 years...(and no crime committed). And their plea agreement with me was, if I forfeit all my property, they would drop all charges. I hired a lawyer and it took two years to get my property back, but I got it all back, except what the police stole from me and never showed up on the evidence receipt! I know what I had, I know it was gone. A box of special ammo, and some Brass Knuckles That were hand made and passed down to me, that according to my dad, my grandpa used to carry them into the beer joints in the 1940's and knocked a few teeth out with them! A keepsake. They were in my Nightstand by my bed in the drawer. I don't carry keepsake weapons and never have brass knuckles! I carry a pistol. So somebody liked those and slipped them in their pocket.

But I digress. See after I was arrested and was sitting in the jail, after a few minutes a fat lady came back with a clip board and a pen and came in and said, I'd like to ask you some questions...So I said, And anything I say may be used against me in a Court of Law? You said in a low tone, well, yes. So I said no disrespect mamm but why should I fill in the holes for them and help them make a case against me? So she left. I effectively, plead the 5th.

Someone pleading the 5th is less likely guilty and more probably an informed prudent citizen. Everyone knows the judicial system is a load of crap nowadays. Thieves and robbers.

I was wearing a glock 45 pistol all day when I was under seige, and I forgot to hide it with the other weapons and where I hid them was not esily accessible, so I wrapped the Glock in white paper and put it in my freezer under some meat, and when I got back home the next day it was sstill in the freezer! They found what I wanted them to find and didnt find anything that I didn't want them to find! I know that Cops don't like to work hard, if it's it's too much trouble, skip it, Lol. Dumb cops. There's so much more to this story and the events but I had all the charges dismissed, thanks to me and not my stupid pubic defender. He kept saying, just give em the guns and it's over. I said, you're fired. Why did I hire you? Get my property back!
