When you're making assertions about a link between legality and frequency it doesn't hurt to offer more than inviting other people to research it. If someone asks you to back up an assertion and you simply invite them to research it themselves it suggests you don't have much to back up what you're saying.
Say there IS a place where the law forbids something but it still happens.... maybe a lot. Does that mean ERGO the law should permit it? Many in the USA violate laws concerning rape, murder, etc. I reject the premise that morality is defined by how common something is.... if that were the case, sin would be legal.
I accept the JUST, only, exclusively having a law against something doesn't mean the behavior thus ends. On the other hand, legalizing something DOES tend to make it more common. As a resident of California, I can show you the enormous rise in the use of pot after its legalization.... I can show you the enormous rise in abortion after it was partly legalized here and then completely in 1973 ... I can show you the enormous rise in gambling when it was (partly) legalized here. Laws DO impact behavior - although by no means completely. Where I grew up, there is a military base. I'd watch military personale drive 5, 10, 15, 20 miles over the speed limit in town because our police did little to nothing about driving laws and everyone knew it. But as soon as they crossed into the base, they all drove 5 MPH UNDER the speed limit because the law was in place and enforced.
But our friend missed my point. I'm NOT saying "Outlaw abortion" I'm saying "END abortion." I'm not rebuking every Democrat running from office for not supporting a (unnecessary) Constitutional amendment or the overturn of the (absurd) Roe v. Wage ruling, I'm rebuking them for SUPPORTING and DEFENDING abortion - for any or no reason at all, at least up to the last moment the last cell of the last toe exits the birth canal (even if the baby is held there). It's their DEFENSE and SUPPORT for this mass killing that I reject. They like to talk about "rights" but no right matters at all if the right to be, to exist is denied. They like to talk about gun violance (that results in one death per hour) but DEFEND abortion that results in over70 deaths per hour. And Buttigieg is one of them.
