If this concept of living perfectly in God was restricted solely to our Lord, then He could never have said,
Luke 6:40 "The disciple is not above his Master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his Master"
The concept of one's living free of sin and being perfect in this life is not only difficult for a modern so-called follower of Christ to believe or accept, but it is also incomprehensible. In fact, it is ridiculous to every one who has not experienced the New Birth. Nevertheless, the Word of God stands true and unchangeable. We read in the Book of Hebrews that
Heb 10:14-15 "by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. Whereof, the Holy Ghost is a witness to us."
Peter verified this when he wrote these words of consolation

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

Heb 6:1 "Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ," says the writer of the Book of Hebrews, "let us go on unto perfection"

It was Paul who said,

Eph 4:4-6 "He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things. And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith"

Eph 4:10 "and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

Here is a Revelation for you doubters that God can not make man perfect like He is before He returns....

Col 1:26-28 "Which," as Paul emphatically declared, "hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints: to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus"

Now before everyone goes off on the step perfect in the Law, something that can not be done in our own strength, let us look at it from the Way that God wants us to be perfect. Not that all our efforts in keeping the law perfectly is a waste of effort, in fact, it is well worth the meditation, the effort, and the prayer to over come and achieve success at it. But it is still elementary to the really living it as God would have us live it. This is where God steps in our lives as our Holy Spirit to guide us in the right place, time, and right attitude towards it.

Perfect is in harmony with God's call... it is like a conductor of an orchestra.. at the right moment of the baton, .. its the moment for that note to be sounded.. any sooner and it is out of sequence even if it is in tune.. You have to hear His voice to know..

Jeremiah 23:20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.

If we could be perfect at any time, we wouldn't need a Savior anymore.

Since we're still in these sinful bodies, we can't possibly be perfect, except when God views us through the lens of the cross.

When a child is learning to walk, the Father looks on them and thinks "perfect'. There is a difference between being perfect in Him and being perfect like Him. We will never stop needing Him.

IT is not even at what stage of faith a person is at, but what, how, why, and when they do what they do at where they are at that counts. You see all the Lord is looking for in the final harvest are those who by faith are walking in truth in the last days.

Isaiah 18:5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

"For the law having a shadow of good thing to come and not the very image of the things, can never ....make the comers there unto perfect." Heb 10:1
"...because that the worshipers once purged should have no more conscience of sins" Heb 10:2
The work of the High Priest (Yeshua) is on the perfecting of the saints to sin no more, to be in perfect harmony with the will and word of God.
"For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified....Now where remission of these is, there is not more offering for sin" Heb 10:14, 18
So when the Day of Atonement is over in heaven there is no more offering for sin, judgment comes (the plagues), and the end of the world.
Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times [seven trumpets of Revelation]

1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Yeshua, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. with God through Yeshua, our Messiah.

It will be the 144,000 in whom is no guile, those who have become perfect in the last days when the world will become so wicked, they will shine in contrast. While I see good evidence and likely chances of all 144,000 being Jews, I do not think that gentile should not strive to be like them in reaching that perfect status of having no guile in them.

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. This can only be done with the constant dwelling on the Holy Spirit, which has to be invited in to stay.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Yeshua, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The final works of salvation, the prophesy of perfection in Yeshua that He is waiting for.

1 Corinthians 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

In your individuals daily walks with the Lord, may your prayer be unceasing, and your hearts filled with gladness, and may you look for the working of the Lord in your life. May this be our motto. ...

Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Colossians 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Yeshua:
Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
2 Timothy That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

The Word of God believes we can be perfect in Him, that we can be imitators of Him, walking, talking, believing, trusting, transformed peculiar people who turn from the foolishness of this world, turn away from the wickedness of this world, not caught up in the love of money, nor lusting for the temporal stuff. Do we see the possibility to be like Him? Do we believe it is possible? Do we think that with the full transformation that we can be living proof that God's way, truth, and lifestyle is possible even under the most horrendous circumstances? DO we trust God to perform all this in us?

So let me challenge you to move on leaving the principles of the doctrines that you started with in your faith and into the deeper matter for which is the body of Yeshua.

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Hebrews 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Yeshua; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

James 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Yeshua, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

1 John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Apart from the blood of Christ, we have no perfection.

Many have been taught that it is impossible to be perfect as God is but Yeshua is our example that it is within all of our reaches. I know that many think that dissecting every nuance of His laws is a waste of time and effort because of all those who have done it in years passed and passed on their understanding makes it not worth our own time. If we accept the foregone conclusions, then it is all good, they say. I say, but that is not what relationships with Him are about. It takes prayer and lots of discussion with Him to know Him better. What better place to start than at His Word. He makes my way perfect. He is the one who will perfect my knowledge and Way in Him.
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
2 Samuel 22:31 Ps 18:30 "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
2 Samuel 22:33 Ps 18:32 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.
Job 36:4 Be assured that my words are not false; one perfect in knowledge is with you.

Well, Yeshua is God, so of course He is perfect.

How many other perfect people do you know about? None. There are none other.

Luke 2:40 And the Child (Yeshua) grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace (favor) of God was upon Him. … 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Perfection, even for Yeshua, was in the moment with what He had. He continued to grow with age, spirit, and wisdom.

Hebrews 5:8 8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,..

It was the final test, the bitter cup, that was the mental anguish, and having drank this responsibility, His mind was perfectly set to become the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.

Even though Yeshua was God in the flesh, He took on flesh in its imperfections, and won the victories over all temptations, and bore our sins on the cross so that He could with all authority be the Judge over all.

Hebrews 7:28 For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

If our Lord had not been perfected, He couldn't be our High Priest atoning for us before His Father. Every struggle we go through is a work of the Lord in perfecting us, whether it is to reveal our weaknesses, our tendencies towards things of earth, our doubt in us or God, and we are to be overcomers, thus perfecting the faith.

For those who have had the personal encounter with the Holy One, you will understand this better than any theologian because you "know" the perfection that was when Yeshua first possessed you.

Phil 3:12 I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

We in Christ, Christ is in us. That is the hope of Glory. We have to renew our minds(thought life) so that we think His thoughts. We do that by the absolute surrender of our whole spirit, soul, and body to the Spirit of God who is in us. Hallelujah!

What if the theologian had a personal encounter with the Holy One?
