Growing up we played croquet a lot. Probably still my favorite lawn one if I had a big enough flat yard for it.

Ah, I hadn't really thought about the requirement for the lawn to be at least reasonably flat. I'd just been thinking about getting a set to play on my yard but it's sloped and rather lumpy, so perhaps not the most successful possible option.

We like playing bocce ball but the grass has to be mowed really short and there is really only one good spot that we like to play on.
We also have cornhole and it's fun but I'm really awful at it...I'm also awful at bocce LOL

Petanque can be fun but again needs ground that's at least reasonably flat. If you've got exceptionally good aim you can take advantage of bumps in the ground. My aim isn't that good....
