No. Unless physically UNABLE to participate in worship, I believe one should worship with the church - in community, in the local congregation. Except for those physically SHUT IN, I lament how technology has enabled the individualism and the rejection of community.

The only time I recall watching a Sunday worship service on TV or the 'net was a few years ago on Easter Morning, I watched a Catholic service around 6:00 AM (of course I later participated in worship in the local congregation, in community, in the locale of the worshipping/serving community)

If I am ill and unable to attend mass I watch mass for people at home. It is intended for people who are house bound, sick, or to fragile to attend mass. Such people usually also receive communion at home when an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist calls by to share the gospel and prayers with them and to give them communion.

Not really - I did at one time join an SDA online group - but I was booted for having differing theological beliefs - and no one could question the leader, so it was just as well. I still like a lot of SDA teachings - many are good. Ironically I think classical SDA is wrong about Sabbath day though - the day on which it falls, that is.

I actually agree with this but some of my beliefs are peculiar to all the present denominations operating in my area, so it's either alone or compromise and subject myself to one of their influences. Although I did church attendance for many years (most of my life) - I found it hard as a I grew older (and don't think I could tolerate it much now) - having to endure the general layout and accept someone preaching at me for an hour as if God designated him or her to utter His words for the faithful that week. I also dislike corporate prayers that involve admitting sins I may have not even committed recently.

I've watched some online services. The ones that I've seen the most are the Catholic ones. I know the service and the hymns well and they preach Christ crucified. I hear a lot of people complaining that Mary is preached in their church but if they would actually listen to a service she isn't.

Blessed Mary is mentioned in our prayers along with the saints and apostles and sometimes the holy angels too.

Sometimes I go to this Baptist church. They don't have the whole service online, but they do have the sermons on there. Right now, the series is the Scarlet Thread from Genesis to Revelations. I was actually there in person for this sermon

In MY experience..... and making a sweeping generalization...... I think that Catholics do worship extremely well. The sermon (which is very dominate and important in Protestantism but certainly not so in Catholicism) tends to be weak. But I agree with Lamm, the sort of things some Protestant "complain" about in Catholicism rarely is actually found in their worship. When life or work takes me away on a weekend, I usually seek out a Catholic church in which to worship (usually easier to find than an LCMS or WELS church), of course I do not receive the Sacrament but appreciate the worship very much and consider the other worshippers my full, equal, unseparated brothers and sisters.

But to the issue, I VERY, VERY rarely worship via the internet or TV ...... in fact, the only time I can remember right now was an early Easter service (that was a Catholic service originating from..... I don't remember where) but this by no means was an alternative to public worship.... it simply was at an early hour before I began getting ready for the 10:00 service at the congregation where I am a part. I don't discount online private worship, but I think it is a "last resort" when it is impossible or inadvisable to worship publicly with a local congregation (maybe one has the flu and doesn't want to expose their brothers and sisters to that disease).
