This is a very common debate within Christianity. Though it appears that OSAS is taught by the minority of churches today, it seems to be pushed as the majority opinion online in many places. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, here is a video that opposes OSAS, but lays out all of the arguments very succinctly and uses lots of Scripture.

God bless.

Care to post a summary?

It's a big ask to sit through an hour long video based on nothing more than someone posting it.

No one is asking you to do that. :)

Sure, technically nobody is explicitly asking anyone to watch the video. But when your post says "here are the arguments" and links a video it's not like you put much effort into the post. Hence my request for a summary, maybe a couple of key points. You know, to give an indication of whether the video is likely to be worth watching.

I pretty much agree with this, particularly with entire very long videos.

If you want to discuss OSAS by all means post something that's a manageable size. It's not very useful initiating a discussion with an implied expectation that someone will spend over an hour watching a video.

@tango, my friend. I couldn't even put a number on how many other threads there are available for you to choose from here at Christianity Haven. If you don't like this one, and can't be bothered to answer a simple yes/no question, ...

God bless.

Why don't you accept the trinity?

Happy to discuss that in a thread about the trinity.

Why did you quote my message to tango that was completely unrelated to your personal question?

Do you embrace OSAS?

Might have mixed posts up, when did I do that?

No.
And there it is. :)

That's awesome.

How long have you been doing this?

I didn't quote you, I replied to you. This website includes your quote in the reply.

I have many reasons to think the New Testament says it is impossible to lose salvation many more times than it says it is possible to lose salvation. So my answer is yes, I believe in eternal security. That is slightly different to OSAS because the latter is relatively recent in its origin and has different connotations.

So listen, Frank tango etc., if you're interested in learning from the Bible about OSAS, the video is very comprehensive and covers just about every single argument in favor of OSAS. The only verses I didn't notice them mentioning are the verses that prove that we can be blotted out of the Book of Life. Are you interested in discussing those verses, under any of your various User Names?

Why don't you open your thread with some thoughts of your own, rather than an inordinately long video with no comments whatsoever, and then asking others to chime in when you won't chime in yourself?

Maybe it's a radical thought but, you know....

Accusing multiple people of being the same person isn't a useful response to your own thread. I can assure you that I only use one account here.

But if you don't want to discuss your own thread, I suppose that tells me all I need to know. Feel free to shift tack and post something relevant to the topic if you want to try to engage people.
